Colonics with Colon Hydrotherapy
Colonics
Colon hydrotherapy, also
known as Colonics or Colonic Irrigation,
is the treatment of applying gentle, purified water for
washing the large intestine. Similar to an enema,
the client lies on an exam table attached to a Colon
Therapy Machine. Discrete amounts of Purified
water is inserted into the rectum, sometimes infused with
minerals or other materials, such as organic
coffee and applied gently into the colon using medically
approved class II colon hydrotherapy devices
with sanitary, disposable speculums or
gravity-fed enema-like systems.
Water is run very slowly into the colon. When slight
pressure builds up in the colon, the water
is released. As the water is flowing out through an illuminated
glass viewing tube, the abdominal area is thoroughly massaged.
This process is repeated during the treatment. In one session
approximately two to six liters flow into and out of the
large intestines.
To insure maximum sanitation, a disposable water and waste
line and speculum are used. According to
Dr. Bernard Jensen, 1974.
